Jewelry Care

Thank you for choosing a piece crafted with care. To preserve the beauty and longevity of your sterling silver and 14k gold‑filled jewelry, a few gentle habits make all the difference.

925 Sterling Silver & 940 Argentium Silver

  • Sterling silver naturally develops a soft patina over time. To maintain its shine, polish gently with a soft, lint‑free cloth provided in your package.

  • Store your piece in an airtight pouch or box when not in use to slow natural tarnishing.

  • Avoid exposing your jewelry to lotions, perfumes, and household chemicals, as these may dull its finish.

  • If deeper cleaning is needed, use a mild silver‑safe cleanser and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

14k Gold‑Filled

  • Gold‑filled jewelry is designed for lasting radiance. Clean occasionally with warm water and a mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth.

  • To preserve its luster, remove your jewelry before swimming, exercising, or applying beauty products.

  • Store separately from other pieces to prevent scratches and maintain its smooth, golden glow.

General Care - Resin specific

To help your piece stay clear, strong, and beautiful, please follow these care guidelines.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.

  • For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and lukewarm water only.

  • Avoid alcohol, acetone, and abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the resin.

Sunlight & UV

  • Store your jewelry away from direct sunlight.

  • although there is a UV resin protective layer on top, prolonged UV exposure can cause yellowing or fading over time.

  • Keep in a shaded or enclosed jewelry box when not in use.

Heat & Temperature

  • Avoid leaving resin jewelry in hot environments (cars, windowsills, near heaters).

  • Keep away from extreme cold to prevent cracking.

  • Best kept at stable room temperature.

Water & Chemicals

  • Resin is water-resistant, not waterproof.

  • Remove before showering, swimming, or washing hands.

  • Keep away from perfumes, lotions, hairspray, essential oils, and cleaning products.

Handling & Storage

  • Store separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratches.

  • Avoid dropping or knocking the piece against hard surfaces.

  • Do not stack resin pieces together.

  • Put jewelry on last and remove it first to protect delicate surfaces.

  • Handle each piece with intention—your jewelry will reward you with years of graceful wear.

What is 14k Gold Filled?

14k gold‑filled jewelry is crafted by bonding a thick layer of solid 14k gold to a base metal—most often brass—using heat and high pressure. This process creates a permanent, durable layer of gold that is far thicker than what you find in plated pieces. By U.S. standards, the gold must make up at least 5% of the item’s total weight, giving gold‑filled jewelry a richness and longevity that feels close to solid gold on the surface.

Gold‑filled pieces hold their color beautifully, resist tarnish, and are generally safe for sensitive skin. Because the gold layer is substantial, it wears slowly over many years, even with daily use.

& how does it compare to gold plated?

Gold‑Plated Gold‑plated jewelry has only a whisper‑thin layer of gold—so thin it can disappear with regular wear. It’s an affordable option for occasional pieces, but the gold can fade quickly, especially on rings and bracelets that experience friction.

Solid gold is gold through and through, alloyed only for strength. It never wears away, keeps its value, and offers the best resistance to tarnish and irritation. It’s also the most expensive, which is why gold‑filled exists as a practical middle ground. If you see a piece you would like in solid gold I would be glad to see if our jeweler can make that a reality for us and get you a quote! :) I'm currently looking to add more solid gold options on the site.

940 Argentium Silver vs. 925 Sterling Silver

Most of our pieces are 940 Argentium Silver, wondering how that compares to 925 sterling?

940 Argentium silver is a modern silver alloy that contains about 94% pure silver and a small amount of germanium, which makes it highly tarnish‑resistant, stronger, and naturally brighter than traditional silver.

925 sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver mixed mostly with copper. It’s the classic standard but tarnishes more quickly and needs more polishing.

Key Differences

  • Tarnish: Argentium resists tarnish far better than sterling.

  • Color: Argentium has a brighter, whiter shine.

  • Durability: Argentium is harder and more scratch‑resistant.

  • Maintenance: Argentium requires less cleaning.

  • Cost: Argentium is usually a bit more expensive due to higher purity and improved performance.

In Short

940 Argentium = brighter, stronger, and low‑maintenance.
